Becoming a Volunteer

Anyone can volunteerVolunteering is the giving of one's time, experience and energy, so that society and the community can benefit. It is carried out by the individual's own choice without any concern for payment or financial gain.

A volunteer is a valuable community member whose contribution to their local community is unique for that community's development. A volunteer works with others in their community to achieve a goal. For their time and energy a volunteer receives the knowledge that they have made a difference to their community.

Anyone can volunteer. We all can contribute to our community; no matter how small or large that contribution may seem it is always valued. The activities that use volunteers are endless and varied. Caring for the aged or sick, giving time to helping the local youth club, scouting, fundraising for local charities, assisting local sports clubs, volunteers are needed throughout our community.

"We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean.
But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop."
