Irish Wheelchair Association

Job        :    Befriending – to accompany a person with limited mobility
            or somebody using a wheelchair on a day trip
Support    :    Training on use of brakes, footplates, belts for wheelchairs.
            Assisting a person to transfer.
Location    :    Clane to shopping centre etc. and back to Clane.



The Hope Foundation
A registered Irish charity set up in 1999 to help restore basic human rights to the street children of Calcutta. The right to food, shelter, healthcare, education, recreation, love, safety and support. Protection from exploitation and danger. The right to a childhood.

Job    :        Schools co-ordinator, to arrange visits to schools in the
            county, to give talks on the problems facing the street
            children of Kolkata.  To raise awareness of the plight of the
            children.  To encourage schools/children to carry out
            fundraising events.
Time        :    Flexible, approx. 4 hours per week
Location    :    County of Kildare

Job        :    Fundraising Co-ordinator, to raise awareness and organise
            local fundraising events i.e. coffee mornings, golf classics.
Time        :    Flexible, approx. 4 hours per week

Job        :    Mini Marathon Co-ordinator, to encourage ladies to
            participate in the mini marathon for the Hope Foundation.

Job        :    Charity Walks Co-ordinator, to encourage people to take
            part in the Hope Foundation charity walks.

Cheshire Ireland
Cheshire Ireland  a National organisation providing support, advocacy, accommodation and personal assistance to people with a physical/sensory disability over 18 years of age, wishes to recruit volunteers for a range of activities at it’s new respite centre in Newbridge.

Opportunity: (1) Drivers to take residents around the area during their stay in Newbridge
Skills:         Full driving licence
Time:         1-2 hours per week

Opportunity: (2) People to befriend residents during their stay e.g. take someone shopping, socialise etc.,
Skills:         A pleasant outgoing personality
Time:         1-2 Hours per week

Opportunity:(3) A person to assist with general upkeep of premises
Skills :         Gardening, DIY
Time:         1-2 Hours per week

Opportunity:(4) Arts & crafts person
Skills:         Competent in Arts & Crafts
Time:         1-2 hours per week

Opportunity:(5) People to demonstrate a range of culinary dishes
Skills:         Talented cook

All volunteers are required to undergo Garda vetting

Job        :    Block Drains on Bog – To preserve habitat in Aug/Sept

Job        :    Therapist – Reflexology, Indian Massage etc.
Job        :    Musician/Singer – to play music and have a sing-a-long
            session, once a month.
Location    :    Day Care Centre, Monasterevin

St. John of Gods
Supporting persons with an Intellectual disability to live independently as much as to their ability within their community

Job        :    Driver – to drive service users to local activities
Skills    :        Clean D licence
Job        :    Musician / Entertainer – to play keyboard/guitar and host
            sing a long sessions to older age service users at the
            weekends.
Location    :    Celbridge

Curragh Pride Family Resource Centre
Job        :    Homework Club Assistants to help young people with after
            School homework.  Ages 8-12
Time        :    2.30 – 4.00 Thursdays and Wednesdays.
Location    :    Curragh
