Centre Manager for Leixlip Youth Premises

Aim of Post: The aim of this post is to manage and develop the youth and community centre to fulfil its’ aims.

Major Tasks:

  • To act as the first point of contact for Leixlip Youth & Community Centre.
  • To provide specific administrative, managerial and secretarial support to Leixlip Youth Premises Group.

Specific Tasks will include:

  • To act as the first point of contact for Leixlip Youth and Community Centre
  • Supervising, motivating, rostering and management of staff and volunteers.
  • Respond to initial enquiries including showing potential hirers for the Centre around, answer the telephone, reply to e-mails,  etc
  • Act as the first point of contact for hirers of the centre, dealing with problems and issues or referring them to the Board of Directors, as appropriate
  • Act as the first point of contact for building maintenance issues, including arranging contractors/call-outs when needed and reporting them to the Board of Directors
  • To provide specific administrative, clerical and secretarial support to the Board of Directors
  • Produce letters, reports and other documentation as directed
  • Produce/update publicity materials (in liaison with the Board of Directors) to promote the Centre, and other events
  • Maintain appropriate filing systems and records, including the Minutes of the Board Meetings,
  • Contribute to effective communication between the Board of Directors and members of staff etc
  • To apply for relevant grants and funding for  the centre.

Person Specification:
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualities:

  • Background in the community/voluntary sector
  • Experience of Managerial, Administrative, and secretarial work
  • Experience of organising and servicing effective meetings and events
  • IT literate with particular experience of Microsoft Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including welcoming and friendly manner
  • Good telephone manner
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and on own initiative
  • Ability to maintain records and correspondence
  • They must have a proven work and attendance record.

40 hours per week.
May include weekend and evening work
Salary €30k
