Training to increase awareness of Substance abuse

he Drug Prevention & Education Initiative provides training & support to volunteers & staff working with young people in Kildare, South Dublin & West Wicklow. This project is funded through the South Western Regional Drug Task Force and managed by Foróige, National Youth Organisation. Training is provided free of charge.

This training aims to increase awareness of substances and substance related issues, provide up to date information on current trends and research of substance use among young people, to support volunteers to plan and deliver drug awareness programmes with young people and identify best practice when dealing with incidents within the club/project. Participants will be provided with 'IT'S UP TO YOU... Youth, Ownership, Understanding' Drug & Alcohol Resource to support the implementation of drug awareness programmes in clubs/projects.
This training is open to all adult volunteers (_must be 18_) who are working with young people in the South Western Regional Drug Task Force Area - Kildare, West Wicklow and South Dublin including clubs, youth projects and youth cafe.
