Volunteer Centres Ireland


Volunteer Centres Ireland is the National organisation with responsibility for developing Volunteering in Ireland. It is a membership organisation, established by Volunteer Centres themselves to co-operate and network on any issue related to volunteering and volunteer centres in Ireland.


The key objective of VCI is to promote volunteering. One of the ways we do this is by supporting existing Volunteer Centres as a key resource for volunteers, organisations and others with an interest in volunteering and facilitating the emergence of new and sustainable centres across the country.


VCI now wishes to recruit a Development Assistant. The main purpose of the position is to assist the National Development Officer in carrying out the objectives of VCI.


Development Assistant (Full time to 31st December 2007)


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven ITC and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be capable of undertaking defined research associated with the development of VCI
  • Knowledge of volunteering in Ireland today including relevant policy matters
  • An ability to work to strict deadlines in a busy office environment
  • A proven track record and a commitment to volunteering
