Riverbank Arts Centre

 

Job   :        Usher – to greet and assist patrons

Skills:        Effective interpersonal and communications skills, also friendly

                and helpful manner.

Time :        3/4 hours, 1 or 2 evenings per week

 

Job   :        Marketing/Distribution - event guide distribution – door

                    to door, put up flyers/poster in local area.

Skills:        Good interpersonal skills, organised and flexible.

Time :        To suit volunteer.

 

Job   :        Visual Arts Curator / Sales Assistant

Skills:        To deal with enquiries concerning art work on display. To complete

                sales transactions.

 

Maynooth Community Care Unit Elderly

 

Job   :        Befriending – Elderly residents

Skills:        Kind, patience and good listening skills.

Time :        2 hours per week / fortnight

 

Job   :        Readers

Skills:        To read newspapers, magazines, books and articles

Time :        2/3 hours per week

 

Job   :        Computers – Assist residents with basic word, email and internet.

Skills:        Basic computer skills, patience and a sense of fun

 

Job   :        Manicure / Hand Massage

Time :        2/3 hours per week

 

Celbridge Parish Pastoral Council

 

Job:          Youth Leaders

Venue:        Parish Centre

Skills:        Very good interpersonal skills, enjoy working with young people, work as part of a        team, sense of fun.

Time:        2 ½ hours per week

 

 

Kildare Traveller Network

Job:          Bus Driver – to drive small group to attend course. From Maynooth

                To Naas and back.  Wednesday mornings.

Skills:        D licence to drive a Mini Bus.

Time:          1hour in the morning and 1 hour at lunch time.

 

Arthritis Foundation

Job:          Administration

Skills:        Good organisational and computer skills.

Time:          3-4 hours per week

 

 

Newbridge Family Resource Centre

Job:        Homework Club Assistants – to give out light snack and help with homework.

Skills:        Patience, sense of fun

Time:        Tues. Weds and Thurs afternoons 3pm – 5pm

 

Job :         Youth Club

Skills:        An interest in working with young people.

Time:          2 hours Wednesday nights

 

 

Irish Girl Guides – Naas

 

Job:               Leader - Brown Owl, Tawny Owl to run a small brownie unit. 

Venue:       Naas 

 

Camphill Communities of Ireland

Job:          Coffee Shop Assistants

Skills:        Help prepare and serve food to customers, good interpersonal skills

                and willingness to work as part of a team.

Time:         11.00 – 2.30 one day a week in rotation with other volunteers

 

Job:          Gardening/Horticulture

Skills:        Interest in gardening/horticulture, patience

Time:        At least one morning/afternoon a week

 

Job:          Weaving, Mending, Sewing, Needlework

Skills:        Ability to sew Hand/Machine, interest in handy crafts, interest in

                Meeting with and chatting with people with special needs.

Time:        1-2 afternoons 2.30-5.30

 

Job:          House Assistant

Skills:        Prepare a meal, baking etc. within special house communities.

Time:          9.15 – 12.45 one or more morning a week

 

Job:          Canoe Instructor

Skills:        Full and Current qualification, interest in people with special needs

                A sense of fun.

Time:         Flexible, once a month, also help at canoe camp.

 

Job:          Web Database Programmer

Skills:        Knowledge of CMS in PHS MySQL perl and cgi or similar database

                Languages as well as html CSS SEO and basic web design.

                Experience in working with a diverse group.

Time:          Flexible on own computer, regular meetings.

 

Job:          Computer Network Set-Up

Skills:        Experience in computer networking, multiple user privileges and       

Security monitoring.  Knowledge of different hardware solutions for

                Connecting networks between different buildings.

Time:        Flexible

 

Leixlip Youth Group

 

Job:        Youth Activities Co-ordinators

Skills:        Lots of energy and enthusiasm, interest in working with young people.

Time:        3 hours per week
