 Job Description

Responsible to the Management Board

Reports to: Manager

Role: To recruit volunteers from a range of outreach stations across D2, D4, D6, D8, D10 and D12 and match them to opportunities and support them in their volunteering roles; to work with voluntary and community groups to ensure that there are a variety of identified roles available for volunteers to participate in; to support the Manager with the implementation of the Board’s work plan.

Key areas of work:
·    Promote volunteering across the community
·    Recruit volunteers for a variety of tasks and roles
·    Establish the needs of registered volunteers and provide them with necessary supports to secure satisfactory placement
·    Build relationship with voluntary and community organisations to ensure that a wide range of volunteering opportunities are registered with the Centre
·    Provide advice and assistance to organisations wishing to recruit volunteers
·    Identify, promote and implement a range of corporate challenges
·    Maintain an up-to-date database of volunteers and volunteering opportunities via the Salesforce data base
·    Working with the treasurer keep accurate financial records in relation to the volunteer centre.
·    Keep accurate and methodical records relating to volunteering and volunteering opportunities
·    Such other duties which do not change the nature of the post, as may be determined by the Centre manager / board.
The post will be based initially in the Volunteer Centre located in Ballyfermot Civic Centre, and the work is 35 hours per week, evening and weekend work may be required from time to time and the centre operates a TOIL system and the salary is based on Grade 4 starting at €31,907 to €36,904

·    Commitment to the concept of volunteering and objectives of the post
·    A relevant third level qualification
·    Ability to work with a wide range of individuals and organisations
·    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
·    Ability to network effectively between different organisations
·    Ability to advise, inform, motivate and support individuals and organisations
·    Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
·    Accurate and methodological approach
·    Ability to understand financial reports and systems
·    Strong organisational, administrative and IT skills
·    Experience of local voluntary and community sector
·    Enthusiasm and drive, friendliness and approachability
·    Willingness to work alongside volunteers
·    Self-motivated
·    Full, clean driving licence
·    Flexibility

This is a fixed term contract for 3 years
The post holder will undergo a period of six month probation.
Use of own car would be an advantage.
